All alarms (Fire, Tornado, etc.) should be considered "real."
Fire Evacuations
Fire evacuations are signaled by a high-pitched continuous buzzer followed by automated verbal commands.
- Leave the building immediately.
- Walk away from the building to a distance of at least 300 feet.
- Do not use elevators.
Tornado or Other Exterior Hazards
Tornado or other exterior hazards are signaled by a series of repetitive beeps, followed by verbal instructions given by NLC police over the NLC intercom system.
- Go to a designated emergency shelter inside the campus immediately.
- Do not leave the building!
- Police will give "all Clear" signal.
Emergency Shelters for Interior Evacuation
The following rooms have been designated as emergency shelters for interior evacuation.
Central Campus
- Building A: A-206, A-214, A-215, A-221, A-241, A-242, A-251, A-345,
A-347, A-349, A-351, A-353, A-368, A-372
- Building C: C-224, C-225, C-227, C-232, C-250, C-252
- Building F: F-102, F-117
- Building G: G-303, G-304, G-308, Hallway, G-320, G-402, G-404, G-405, G-406
- Building L: L-131, L-132, L-134, L-136, L-138
- Building P: P-213, P-235, P-239, P-249, P-250
- Building T: T-148, T-158, T-159, T-161, T-164
North Campus
Use Men's and Women's restrooms located in each wing of the campus.
South Campus
Use Men's and Women's restrooms and break area in front of the police department.
