Students with qualifying grade point averages may join one of North Lake’s four honor societies. Members participate in community service and social events.
Mu Alpha Theta Math National Honor Society
Promoting a better understanding of math and implementation of math skills in everyday life. Requirements: 3.3 overall GPA and 3.5 GPA overall in math courses.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (Alpha Zeta Eta Chapter)
Alpha Zeta Eta is the North Lake College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, honor society of the two year college. Depending on the university chosen, students transferring from NLC may be awarded an automatic transfer scholarship. Members can earn community service hours, gain leadership experience, and network with many of the people and businesses we work with.

Requirements
- Minimum 3.5 GPA to join.
- At least 12 NON-DEVELOPMENTAL credit hours.
- Official, sealed transcript to be turned in (from Admissions office).
- One time $95 membership fee.
Once inducted, members are not required to be active at their community college; however, active members can build their resumes before transferring to another college, adding the experience they will receive at NLC. Also, members may have a chance to apply for more scholarships reserved for Phi Theta Kappans only.
Psi Beta Psychology National Honor Society
Psi Beta is a Psychology National Honor Society designed for students who are interested in the field of psychology. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, 12 transferable credit hours, 1 Psychology class with a grade of B or higher.

Omicron Sigma Kappa Delta Honor Society (Omicron Gamma Chapter)
- Be enrolled in a two-year college with an Omicron Gamma Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta.
- Have completed a minimum of one college course (excluding developmental courses) in English language or literature.
- Have no grade lower than a B in English.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) in general scholarship.
- Have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college course work for a cumulative total of twelve semester hours.
- Students are not required to be English majors.
