The Growth Years

From the late 1980's through the 1990's, the Irving/Las Colinas area experienced tremendous growth. The population almost doubled, from just over 100,000 people in 1980 to approximately 200,000 at the end of the 90's. To accommodate this growth, the college enlarged its space from an original square footage of 249,710 to 425,205 square feet in the 90's. Two new buildings were constructed, the “T” building and “C” building, and other buildings were expanded to keep up with the demand of students wanting to take college courses, find a new career, or enhance their existing career.
