  • Pre-Professional Accelerated Science Program
    The accelerated program consists of sequential eight week sessions in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in the fall and spring semesters. The accelerated course option is offered in addition to the traditional sixteen-week format. The curriculum in accelerated courses is identical to that in the sixteen-week format.

    Pre-Professional Health Career Programs
    North Lake College can give you a head start with pre-professional programs in fields like pharmacy and physical therapy.

    Science Olympiad
    The Science Olympiad is a nonprofit organization developed to improve the overall quality of science education, increase student interest in science, and provide both student and teacher recognition for outstanding achievement in science education. Texas students in grades 6-12 participate in interscholastic competitions at the local, regional, state and national levels against teams from across the United States.
    • STEM Institute Scholars
      The DCCCD STEM Institute engages science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students from North Lake and the district's other colleges. STEM scholars enjoy access to special seminars with world-renowned scientists, work with mentors and selected faculty fellows, and receive a scholarship award.
  • Field Studies in Hawaii and the Texas Gulf Coast
    Our field studies programs offer students the opportunity to study biology, botany, earth science, and photography in the best laboratory of all: nature. Spend your Winter Term or summer semester studying in Hawaii, or explore the many ecosystems of the Gulf of Mexico on land and sea. All four programs entail credit classes which take place both in the classroom and outdoors.
