Honda Professional Automotive Career Training (Honda PACT)

Background

The Honda-PACT program with Eastfield was initiated in 2008 and targets high school students enrolled in automotive programs to train for employment in Honda and Acura dealerships, numbering more than 20 in the metroplex area.

Funding

Since the program began, Honda has provided more than $600,000 in vehicles and $50,000 in tools, equipment and supplies.

Specifics

The five-semester associate degree program is completed with instruction and lab work in the college’s state- of-the-art Automotive Technology facility with co-op work experience at dealerships. Sponsorship at a Honda/Acura dealer is not required to begin the program, but completion of the program is contingent on obtaining and sustaining sponsorship at a Honda/Acura dealer.

Outcomes

The PACT program has graduated 42 students since 2010.
