​Local industry experts estimate that more than 48,000 people in the Dallas-Fort Worth area work in mortgage banking, helping to write, service, and examine loans for homeowners. The region employs 7,000 loan officers alone, making DFW one of the top five American regions hiring new loan officers.

As of May 2015, statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor list the following median annual wages for financial service professionals in Texas:
  • Financial Clerk/Loan Servicer: $37,040
  • Title Agent/Mortgage Closer: $48,200
  • Financial Examiner/Compliance Officer: $78,010
  • Loan Officer/Mortgage Originator/Broker: $63,430
  • Credit Analysts/Loan Underwriter: $80,310
  • Financial Manager: $117,990
