Cisco Networking Academy

North Lake College is an approved Cisco Networking Academy, offering CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking Professional) training.

This program prepares you for the Cisco Certification exams. Students who take and pass the exams are certified as Networking Associates or Networking Professionals by Cisco.
Cisco Academy is the beginning of a career in network management, building the skills you need to thrive in networking jobs. Students learn how to design, build, and secure intelligent networks, while developing other skills like leadership and collaboration. Soon after graduation, many of our alumni work as network engineers, designers, or administrators.

In our Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) course, you'll develop a working knowledge of routing, switching, network applications, protocols, and services.
The Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) curriculum builds on CCNA classes, with in-depth study of advanced routing and switching for converged voice, video, and data enterprise networks.
North Lake College is the first academy to offer voice networking classes in the Dallas area.

Career prospects

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the job market for network architects, support specialists, and administrators is expected to grow in Texas by between 14-22% by 2022.
North Lake College is one of the top 10 Cisco Networking Academies worldwide for growth in enrollment. According to Cisco Systems, nearly 100% of students who complete academy courses at NLC obtain jobs in the field.

We have a network of local business leaders who advise us on course offerings. For example, after businesses asked for Linux-trained graduates, NLC added new Linux classes to the program.
