EMC and NetApp Storage Certification

North Lake College is one of a handful of colleges and universities that are officially partnering with EMC and NetApp, a leading IT data storage corporation. While 10 to 15 percent of IT infrastructure jobs are in storage, the discipline is underrepresented in many undergraduate and graduate computer science and IT programs. EMC and NetApp’s Academic Alliance program enriches university curricula with courses on IT storage and management. The goal of North Lake, EMC and NetApp is to provide students with knowledge that helps them stand out in the IT workforce.

Shared-service infrastructures, cloud computing, and big data are all changing the way we process, store, and utilize data. In today’s IT landscape, organizations are rapidly deploying hybrid cloud infrastructures and experts anticipate that by 2016 more than half of all IT services will be delivered through the cloud.

Certification Overview

EMC Proven Professional certification offers a role-based series of courses and exams that covers the full range of EMC's hardware, software, and solutions. EMC Proven Professional features three levels of recognition to differentiate the knowledge and skills of certified professionals as they advance their expertise. Each level is achieved by passing a proctored exam.

Employers are increasingly looking beyond an academic degree for credentials that validate a candidates’ expertise. For recent college graduates having an industry certification provides documentation of their experience and skills, and can help to differentiate them in a job search. NetApp® certification provides students and technical professionals with industry-recognized validation of their skills and knowledge. A technical professional who is certified in one or more areas of storage management is recognized across the industry as a NetApp expert.
Being a proven professional means investing in yourself and formally validating your knowledge, skills, and expertise with the industry's most comprehensive learning and certification program.
