What is an EMC/NetApp Certification?

An EMC/NetApp Certification from North Lake College will distinguish you from other IT professionals. Being the best isn’t just about executing deployments and managing technology efficiently. It’s about getting the ahead and immersing yourself in the technology so you can take control of your career.

North Lake College has developed a unique partnership with EMC and NetApp Corporations. The focus is to educate students on the technologies that support IT Cloud Services and enterprise datacenters. Classes include theory, discussions, exercises, and labs that align to real-world responsibilities.

North Lake College is the first college to offer a combined certification course for EMC ISA and NetApp NCDA Introduction. Eight weeks are spent on each topic.

Information Storage and Management (ISA) Certification fills the knowledge gap in understanding varied components of modern information storage infrastructure, including virtual environments. It provides comprehensive learning of storage technology, which will enable you to make more informed decisions in an increasingly complex IT environment. Students also receive 8 weeks of hands-on EMC Basic training.

ISA builds a strong understanding of underlying storage technologies and prepares you to learn advanced concepts, technologies, and products. You will learn about:

  • architectures, features, and benefits of Intelligent Storage Systems;

  • storage networking technologies such as FC-SAN, IP-SAN, NAS, Object-based and unified storage;

  • business continuity solutions such as backup, replication, and archive;

  • the increasingly critical area of information security; and

  • the emerging field of cloud computing.

NetApp Configuration and Administration (NCDA) provides understanding of basic concepts concerning LUNs, ISCI, FC, and NAS Storage Arrays. Students will focus on NetApp Storage Array running Data ONTAP. Students will learn basic administration tasks such as creating aggregates, volumes, gtrees, LUNS and managing administrative access. This will include interactive labs where students will perform skills taught in the course.
