Library Classes

Professional librarians assist North Lake College students, faculty, and staff with library introduction sessions, individualized consultations and/or course specific library instruction classes.

Basic Class

Library tour and quick introduction to library Web site as well as library services and resources. For groups with no assignments or low information literacy levels.

Research Class

Class covers searching the Library Catalog, Databases and other electronic resources. Focuses on search strategies to find relevant and reliable sources of information. Overview of citation styles. Best for classes working on an assignment or a paper.

Career Readiness Class

Introduction to library services and resources with a focus on careers. Stresses how to easily find information on job opportunities, interviewing techniques, resumes, schools and majors, job markets, and more.

Other Subject/Course Specific Class

Library instruction specific to a course or topic. Contact a Librarian to create a subject/course online guide (LibGuide) for a class. Library instruction classes are available at any campus for morning or afternoon sessions.

Requests should be made in advance to allow for instruction room reservation and class materials preparation. Request a Library Class.
