North Lake provides free, convenient tutoring for a wide range of subjects. Instructional labs in a variety of disciplines are located throughout the campus. A diverse staff of trained, certified tutors is available to help North Lake students achieve their academic goals.

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) offers information and online tutoring to all North Lake students, faculty and staff.
Student Resource Center
The North Lake College Student Resource Center provides student access to current technology including computers, software, email and internet. The Student Resource Center also issues student IDs and parking decals.
Teacher reserves and reference textbooks may be checked out for review. A student ID is required for using the Student Resource Center and may be obtained in L240. Student ID is also required to check out media items.
- Software: Windows 10 (some with CD burners), Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Office Suite 2013, and Windows Movie Maker
- Select computers contain Adobe Suites (including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator), Respondus Lockdown Browser, Camtasia, Turning Point, and Quickbooks
- Media: Educational and mainstream movies, telecourse CDs/DVDs, audiobooks
- Equipment: copy machines, printers, scanner, fax machine (for local, outgoing faxes only)
Computer printing and photocopies
Computer printing and photocopies may be made for 10¢ per black and white page, or $0.50 per color page. Both computer pay-per-print and photocopying require the creation of a "copy account" with a $1.00 minimum balance. Machines will accept bills only – NO coins. The machines do not give refunds.
Tutoring and assistance
Tutoring is available for accounting and computer programming. One-on-one and group tutoring sessions are available to currently enrolled students requesting assistance. Tutors are available by appointment during designated hours and days each week. Ask at the Student Resource Center front desk for more information.

- Cell phones must be turned off or in vibrate mode. Please take calls outside the SRC in the lobby.
- Food is not allowed. Drinks are allowed, but must have a lid and be located from all electronic equipment.
- Children under 16 years of age are not allowed.
- You may be asked to leave if you do not comply with the rules.
