Update: Commencement this year will take place online. North Lake College congratulates all graduates and wishes them well on their future endeavors.
We are pleased that you will be able to share this special occasion with your graduate. For the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests please carefully review these instructions.
Graduation is to be a respectful event. Family and friends should listen quietly to all student and college speakers and refrain from shouting as names are called. Please be respectful of all graduates and their families. Every family wants to hear the name of their graduate as she or he walks across the stage.
To help expedite the end of the ceremony and because space within the lobby is limited, we ask that you meet your graduate outside following the ceremony.
Parking is free for the graduates and all guests. We recommend carpooling to reduce traffic congestion before and after the ceremony.
A ticket will be required for each guest to gain entry to the ceremony. The amount of guest tickets given to graduates is based on how many ceremony RSVPs we receive. Graduates will be notified closer to the ceremony how many tickets they can expect, but we anticipate that each graduate will receive at least six guest tickets.
Adults and children over one year old need a ticket in order to be seated at the venue. Children under one year old will be required to sit in a guest's lap. The Theatre of Grand Prairie has a "no re-entry" policy during events. Guests who wish to return a prohibited item to their vehicle or need to exit and re-enter due to personal emergencies must first make contact with a Guest Services supervisor or manager via the Guest Service Center to make necessary arrangements.
Children may not be left unattended at any time. Children who are guests at the graduation ceremony are the responsibility of their parents. Please keep your children with you throughout the ceremony. We appreciate your attention to these concerns, both for the safety of the children and the enjoyment of all other guests attending this important occasion.
No outside food or drink is allowed in the The Theatre.
Guests should enter at the main entrance and will not be allowed in the graduate check-in area. Restrooms are available for use on either side of the main hallway. Access to the hallways will be restricted during the processional and recessional to allow for the graduates and faculty to enter and exit the arena.
More detailed information will be available closer to the time of the ceremony.
The Theatre is a drug- and alcohol-free facility; there is no smoking on the premises.
