The El Centro College Lassiter Lecture Series and the El Centro Literacy Link present Alfredo Corchado, the author of “Midnight in Mexico: A Reporter’s Journey Through a Country’s Descent into Darkness.” Join us for an engaging and insightful morning with the author. Alfredo Corchado is an award-winning journalist and the Mexico correspondent for The Dallas Morning News; he is currently director of the Borderlands Program at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Born in Durango, Mexico, Corchado grew up in California and Texas and attended El Paso Community College and the University of Texas at El Paso. On July 29, 2015, Corchado testified before the House Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere on the dangers that reporters face in Mexico. It is these dangers that Corchado discusses in “Midnight in Mexico.”
