Mountain View College recently hosted DeSoto High
School's 2016 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Completion
Ceremony. This was MVC's first CNA program with DeSoto, and 31 students
graduated with their CNA certificate. The students, who were juniors and
seniors at DeSoto High School, completed 60 hours of classroom
instruction at the high school with MVC instructors and 40 hours of
clinical instruction at the Villa at Mountain View nursing home.
“I
thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching the CNA students of DeSoto High
School,” said Carolyn Johnson, one of the MVC instructors. “They were
very attentive, enthusiastic and eager to learn.”
The partnership
is in the first of a three-year contract with the district. Dr. David
Harris, superintendent for DeSoto ISD, told the students and instructors
that the partnership far exceeded his expectations during the
graduation ceremony.
