Chief Hill Has an Important Message for You

This article appeared in the Aug. 13, 2019, issue of the student newsletter.

In light of the recent horrific shootings in El Paso; Dayton, Ohio; and Gilroy, Calif., we want to remind every student, faculty and staff member of the current protocols and procedures in place for an active shooter incident. Your DCCCD police department, along with our municipal, county, state and federal partners, are prepared to address any threats to our campuses.

Read more about staying safe in a campus emergency.

Please familiarize yourself with the emergency procedures guide and the emergency notification system. The guide will help you understand the terminology used by the district in the event of an emergency.

Confirm your contact information and preferences to make sure you receive emergency alerts in the event of an emergency:

Remember, "If you see something, say something." Report suspicious activity by calling 911 from any campus phone, or call police dispatch at 972-860-4290 from your cellphone or a noncampus phone.

Lastly, your DCCCD police department is prepared to respond to any emergency on our campuses. All officers have received training in responding to an active shooter and have the proper equipment to address any threat.
