Student Government

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the voice of the student body.

SGA is also a model of government and source of leadership development. SGA members learn to run for office, help make decisions about your college and share the needs and concerns of fellow students with college leadership.

If you join SGA, besides having a role in decision-making, you’ll make friends, meet with college administrators at campus forums and network with community leaders and fellow college students nationwide.

Your college Student Life Office has information about how to join student government. They can tell you about the events SGA sponsors and what SGA can do for you.

For more information about student government, visit the Texas Junior College Student Government Association website.

Upon acceptance into the college, students automatically become members of the Student Government Association. All students are encouraged to become active members and officers so that the Association truly voices the needs and concerns of the student body.

The Executive Board of the Student Government Association consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Parliamentarian, Historian, and Treasurer. Officers are elected by the student body at the beginning of each Fall semester, with terms running through August of the following year until new elections are held.
