Blazer Student Store

The Blazer Student Store is a shop where students to can acquire donated clothes, toiletries, toys, household goods, and canned foods, for free.

Transactions in the store are in Blazer Bucks, and the store does not accept official currencies, checks, or credit cards.

Students may receive Blazer Bucks in four ways:

  • From an instructor for good classwork
  • By trading non-perishable food and clothing donations (only 10 at a time)
  • Requesting bucks, at no charge, from Student Life or Counseling Services. This option is available to students experiencing a personal or economic hardship
  • By purchasing the bucks for $1 each at the Cashier's Office

Items in the student store are donated by faculty, staff, fellow students, and NLC community members.

The Blazer Student Store is sponsored by the Journalism Club, Blazer Ambassadors Club, Service Learning, and the Student Life Center. Since its grand opening in fall 2011, the Blazer Student Store has served more than 1,500 students each semester.
